Awards
INTRODUCTION
The Awards Scheme is a total programme used to encourage Boys' interest in worthwhile activities and at the same time to develop their all-round personality. It gives the company an opportunity of presenting an attractive and progressive programme of activities in order that the Boys' membership of the Brigade may be both enjoyable and beneficial.
It must be stressed that because BB awards are mainly for work and achievement carried out within the BB curriculum, they are not given to Boys as reward for achievements already accomplished outside BB.
CLASSIFICATION OF AWARDS
| 1. | Service Awards
These awards indicate length of service and loyalty to the company. |
| 2. | Target Badge
This badge covers an introductory programme for all Boys who become members of the Senior Section. |
| 3. | Proficiency Awards
Boys who have gained the Target Badge can participate in a variety of specialized activities, commencing at stage 1 and progressing to stage 2 and 3 thereafter. A badge is presented at completion of stage 1, a white cloth backing at stage 2 and a red cloth backing at stage 3. Proficiency awards can be further categorized as follow: |

a) Core Awards
These are proficiency awards every BB boy should endeavor to attain. i) Christian Education ii) Citizenship iii) Community service iv) Drill v) Camper's vi) Expedition vii) First Aid viii) NCO Star b) Electives These are the other proficiency awards not mentioned under the core. These awards are good to attain for experience but not all BB Boys are expected to strive for them. |

| 4. | Special Awards
The Senior Proficiency Award and the Founder's Badge are special awards given to Boys' for all-rouind proficiency and service. The National Youth Achievement Award also falls under this category of awards. |
